Send feedback to NTUC Income

Dear Mr Tan,

Do you have the NTUC Income CEO's email address for me to file a complaint to? Their call centre and email service are useless and they do nothing to help me.

My wife's total hospitalisation bill is $9k. She has an operation on (date). Till now, the claims department only paid out $250 Medishield claims. My wife has a Income Shield Insurance Preferred Plan with Rider Plan and they only paid out $250 in claims so far. I have called the claim department and they keep saying they will get back to us as they are processing it or wait for their letters. I have already paid $3k in cash upfront before her operation. Now the hospital has deducted $3k from my wife's medisave and now the hospital is demanding us to pay the remaining 3K. What is happening to NTUC now?

The irony is right now they have just sent me a letter to ask me to renew my incomeshield policy stating the benefits and advantages of signing up with them.

EL

I suggest that you send a registered letter addressed to the CEO of NTUC Income:

Bras Basah Branch
75 Bras Basah Road,
NTUC Income Centre
Singapore 189557

Or you can send a fax to 67883777

If there is delay in settling your claim, you can file a complaint to FiDREC, www.fidrec.com.sg

My sister's experience is that it normally takes a few months to settle.

Hi Thread starter,

Apart from the NTUC delay, there is absolutely NO need to pay hospital at all.

You can delay. There is no way that they can force you to pay. The finance ppl in the hosp has a budget to meet, ie. they have to collect payments (late ones too) for their job requirements.

However, politely decline their advances and tell them your plight. If things dont work, just REFUSE to pay. Scare tactics, say you ll complain.

I myself have a wealth of experience dealing with hospitals. Cheers mate.

they always say they pay claim fast.
After all it is only a claim. Actions tell otherwise. Their agents
only know how to yak and nothing else.Write to the ceo, or call him. He is also another Nato.

Alternatively, EL can write to ST or Today's forum. If the letter is publish, you will definitely see a very quick response from NTUC Income. It also serve to inform the public about the matter.

Someone posted a defamatory remark about NTUC Income, but did not give his or her name. I disallowed it to be posted.

To be fair to NTUC, my claims experience was prompt and hassle free. The claim for my mother was settled expeditiously early this year.

Hmm.... seems like the service level differs from time to time?

Anyway, I want to share that it was the hospital that made the boo-boo. I am the one who pay the insurance premiums, but the hospital paid my brother the insurance claim because he was the one who admitted my mum, despite my clear instructions to the hospital who to forward the cheque too. Good thing we are siblings. Hahahah!

It always amazes me to know that in spite of all the efforts so many people including Mr. Tan has written in his blogs people are still buying Income Shield policies and then complaining of poor service. I admire Mr. Tan for having so much patience to help those who did not listen to him in the first place. I think the premiums of your policy has gone towards paying for the costly chairs that is so comfortable for the CEO's bum now. Still trying to contact him when it is so abudantly clear that he does not bother to reply to policy holders phone calls and emails as mentioned by so many disgruntled policyholders during the last saga on the unilateral cut in annual bonus. People simply doesn't learn!

he is a favourite with the agents. Because the agents are greedy and unqualified he exploits their greed with high commission and and rotten expensive products to dump on their customers so that the both company and agents make money. He is cunning and understand the mentality of the greedy and unethical agents. He is a great actor and the agents like his acting. During the oversea he would go all the way to recieve the agents and to treat them with specail tender love and to act that he loves them. These don't know die agents are no difference. They are abunch of greedy people.

My son was hospitalized between 16/08/2008 and 19/08/2008. We received the full claim from the hospital on the first week of September 2008.

it works this way, Income pay claims to the hospital after the assessment, and hospital will pay to the patient.

Guess who, its INCOME's Enhanced Incomeshield!

maybe there are some complications or some people will get bad experience. I think if they are really very good with their claims, it does not necessary mean they are 10/10 perfect.

It's the same for anyone, you and I are not perfect and make no mistake.

This is my experience:
I was hospitalised for 4 days in Jan and my full bill was paid by Income Enhanced Incomeshield to hospital directly. I did not pay any money to the hospital.
I was pleasantly surprised with the hassle-free process :)
