Meet your Members of Parliament

I am compiling a list of investors (who signed the Petition) according to their residential postal code. This allows them to contact other investors in the same constituency and meet the members of Parliament.

Call for volunteers: If you are willing to call other investors to meet the MP, please send an email to me at kinlian@gmail.com giving your name, mobile phone, and postal code now.

It is better for the investors to meet the MP during the weekly "Meet the People" session and tell your MP how you were misled into investing in the high risk structured products.

If the MP meets several of the investors personally, they will better appreciate the problem. They may ask MAS to be pro-active in helping the investors to deal with the financial institution that sold the structured products.

You can find out your Member of Parliament and the venue, day and time of the "Meet the People" session from this website:

It is more effective for district groups to see the respective MPs together. MPs will be more attentive and more motivated to pursue the matter. Individual meetings will be too cumblesome for the MPs.

Mr. Tan, highlight a few co-ordinators in your district list to save time for everyone so that the group knows who to write to arrange the first pre-MP meeting. Thereafter, the group can decide who should be the leader. Thanks.

Mr Tan, I suggest that we group ourselves according to GRC. Every GRC has the most powerful Minister. We should meet the Minister and not the MPs.

Notice how effective the Serangoon Gardens meet-the-MPs session was. It also included a full Minister, Mr George Yeo.

I totally agree with anonymous(posted at 3:06 pm), no point in approaching MPs, mere waste of time. See? When more than 1,000 Serangoon Gardens' residents attended the dialogue with the MP & Minister, sent their petitions, spoke over TV. In the end - the MND still move on with their decision.

I have received responses from investors in the following postal sectors:

12xxxx, 14xxxx, 15xxxx, 31xxxx, 32xxxx, 54xxxxx, 55xxxx, 65xxxx.

The volunteers will call the other investors in the same district and arrange to see the Member of Parliament together.

I wish them all the best.

I am still looking for volunteers from the other postal sectors.

I do not agree that meeting the MP is a waste of time. The voice of an MP reverberates through the govt. organs eg MAS.

MAS is continually adjusting its stance based on ground noise level. Their officers do listen although they do not tell you what they do. Do you need to know what they do if the end result is that you small voice has added a new harmonic to the music?

Don't you sense that MAS is getting firmer now then before? Your voice counts!
