More likely rated top four in terms of concealing information and hoodwinking investors, esp the lowly educated ah peks and aunties,
even sophisticated investors like the Town councils and University professors.
yes i am speechless.

I think Mr Tan is talking about land banking as an investment and not our banking and financial system system.

It is a fact and accept it. Crowded with scholars thus able to convince the people to rank us top.

Remember how Hong Kong people got confuse with MAS first Minibond compensation presentation that they thought we had as much as 95% principle back.

Also remember how we continue to vote for them and had a bad impression of the opposition?

That is the power of pen or con at the highest level..

Definitely singapore is Top 4 place for banking businesses. Coz PAP makes the whole place very pro-business, pro-banks, pro-elites, low-consumer protection, low-worker protection.

Definitely banks here won't get sued or get 100-million dollar fines like in New York or London.
Therefore, I am not speechless as the above is common knowledge already. Maybe a bit stun that we are not Top 1.

Actually if someone feels that certain landbanking sounds plausible, why not that person take a holiday to the foreign country and just buy a few acres of land directly from the local govt?

If the landbanking company is jacking up the selling price by 30 to 50 times, it is still cheaper to pay for travelling expenses and lawyer fees to buy direct.

Another option is to go for distressed landbanking sales on eBay. Many investors or should I say CONned-vestors have already given up hope and are selling their landbanking stakes on eBay for up to 97% discount.

Of course, you have to understand that those eBay sales are really "no hope" cases and you are prepared to throw away some money for fun --- just like taking $1000 to the casino for the thrill.

Land Banking Investment = 4 Legs Good, 2 Legs Bad as follows:
4 Legs Good?
a) Company's Reputation.
b) Track Records.
c) Location, Location, Location.
d) Exit Strategies based on Economic
conditions and Forex advantage
2 Legs Bad?
a) Not Regulated.
b) No Transparency.

My mum used to tell me this, "If the frog can be eaten, it will not be jumping around on the road.", it sounds a bit cynical, but that's a very good advice on being cautious if an offer that seems too good to be true comes your way.
