Educate our children

There is a big difference in the approach towards education adopted by several countries and Singapore. Which system do you prefer?

Heard an American expat commenting on the local education system here.
"You dun need rocket science to realise why there is Nobel Prize Nomination candidates from Singapore.
People here are not taught to put on their thinking cap. They sort of just learn robotic style, absorb every damn thing from the teacher, then regurgitate what they're taught, that's it, no contribution from the kid.
No way gonna put my kids thru' such schooling."

Replaces gce a-level with the in diploma program. The program can be completed within 1 year.
