Mental depression and suicide

I have thought of suicide as well. The way MAS and government have acted in not helping me, I feel really depressed. Each time I see the words UOB Kay Hian I have much resentment and depression that I have lost the family's life savings. If it goes on this way and I do not get back the money, I can't face the family and subject them to difficult life ahead. Worst, I have no regular job now. It only takes me some courage to kill the children and end my life with my wife. Never felt so miserable in my life. Now I understand what depressing life a 40+ has when there's no job and money but full of life stress.
If we end our life, I will make it clear we will return to haunt UOB Kay Hian and those responsible for minibond.

I can feel how you are feeling now, as I am also in the same situation. However,if you are gone now, the FIs won't feel bad. You must transform your anguish into energy to fight. Not only for yourself and your family, but against your enemy who had put you in this agony.

I'm concerned that these two victims are so depressed as they've been pushed to a dead end and may resort to some foolish act. If you have volunteers who are well trained in counselling pls help them to overcome this difficult period.

Please don't be so upset over these investment. Life have its ups and downs. Although you are 40plus, surely you and your wife would be able to find some kind of employment in the future. Cherish what you have now, your wife and children. They are the fruits of your labour. Banish the thought of suicide from your mind. I feel very miserable on reading your message, particularly your depression and thoughts of suicide.

The trick is to belief in yourself and persevere. Do something positive. Think positive.

By the way, if you end your life, there won't be any haunting. I wish there can be haunting but there just isn't going to be. Fact.

Also another fact, those FI could not care less if you die. It's just another opponent wiped off the face of the earth, which is good news for them. Sorry, people in the FI don't have feelings, evident from day 1 of Lehmann collapse.

Be strong, think about how man survived for thousands of years. Imagine during farming days, people can lose a whole lively hood by warlords or natural disaster such as drought.

Our ancestor did not commit suicide just because everything is wiped out.

by some miraculous chance i realise i was way WAY off the mark

sometime (read: SOMETIME) delusions are great medicine

they help 1. take away the Pain 2. tho TEMPORARILY, theres a good chance the person might decide realise the Pain is not worth it AFTER taking a step back -> VERY IMPORTANT PROCEEDING (other than the sueing part)

Doing what you want, when you want to, where you want it, how you want it is the simplest age old remedy to good'o depression

There are many ups and downs in our life. The most important thing is to look forward.

I am bearing some potential loss on the CLNs. within the first month when I got the news, I felt desperate. Gradually, I realize if I am defeated by it, I will lose not only my investment, but also my health and future.

Tkh, get rid of the thought of suicide, just imagine there are many people, sick and poor, are striving to live a better life. So, cheer up and we will find a way to solve all the problems.

If there are some problems that we cannot solve, just face it, better than a suiside, especially when it will hurt your loved ones.

There are lots of people like you suffering too. They could be in worst situation whereby they don't even know that there is Blog whereby people share their pain and receive encouragement from each other.

I am also a victim and not far from your description. However, I am telling myself every night:-

"what did not kill me today will make me a stronger person the next day when I wake up"...

The verdict of the battle is not out yet and there are many people/victims still fighting for it. And the fact you post on this Blog is the first to the world to share your pain and to receive possible ways of help here.

When you are reading this at this point, means you are still alive... with that you are indeed getting strong every moment and at one point, your fighting spirit will be back.

You are not the only person who have suffered losses from this misconceived investment. Many retirees lost a large portion of their retirement savings. The future for them is bleak and they can only look forward to a blank future. These retirees do not think of suicide, but take things in their stride, hoping that tomorrow will be a better day.
Yes, admist all the gloom and doom, there is always a silver linings in every cloud.
Seek solace from religion if your anguish is too heavy. Whatever your faith, be it Christianity, Buddhism or any other religion, it can help you to overcome this misery. Learn to accept the loss and try to find a job. If you still cannot find a new job, then become a taxi driver as this occupation does not requires somebody to accept you into his employment.

The regulator fails to regulate and fails further in damage control and the victims are taken to ride to nowhere.

Only those 'vulnerable' group so proclaimed has gotten the compensation. CLNs alone, there are still about 15,000 victims either with full loss or potential loss (DBS HN2 & 5, ML Jubilee 3, LB Minibond 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9 & 10 & MS PS 1,2,3,5,6,7,9 &10) suffering together with U. The money are for repayment of housing loan, medical treatment and childrens' education etc.

So U're not alone.

Suicide cann't wake the gahman & FIs up, we shall continue to explore ways to seeking justice. If only CHANGE can get the thing RIGHT we shall persevere and make use our only RIGHT to make the CHANGE when time is right and it is not very far from now.

I am a victim of Pinnacles Notes and the 90k is locked in for my childrens' education in 4 years time. Now, I have no alternative but to urge them to study harder for scholarship.

If a toxic financial product killed a person (e.g. commit suicide), legally the distributor has no responsility. It is the person who killed himself/ herself.
But morally, it is wrong to sell / distribute toxic Fin product.

To the consumer, which one is more harmful?????

I am like Anonymous @4.57pm - not trying to preach the gospel, but feels a need to share with you that God puts US in a situation to grow in strength and wisdom. From this crisis WE will learn not to trust the PRESENT BANKS (Banks wasn't like that during my younger days), they have changed since they started HARD SELLING unit trust and the likes. GOD have bless you with a complete family with children & wife, concentrate to enjoy the blessings. Live a life to see your children grow up and you will then enjoy the fruit of your labour. In the meantime, try looking for a job(whatever decent job that comes your way -even if it doesn't match your previous one) so that you can tide over this storm and share with your children the present situation if they are already old enough to understand. I am sure they will be even more mature and mentally stronger after this crisis. From there on every member in your family will be more prepared for whatever future crisis that comes your way. Fyi, be on the lookout for developments with regard to this CLS matter. You will not be left out if we are taking any steps to recover our money. In the meantime, be strong.
