Emotional Burden on Aljunid residents

Dear Mr Tan,

I refer to George Yeo's statement that now WP is coming in to contest in his ward and he feels uncomfortable and labeling it as causing Emotional Burden to his residents.

What is wrong with swaying voters? I thought that is what elections are all about. Just because the WP come in and contest in his GRC suddenly is causing ‘Emotional Burden’ (EB) to residents?

GY did not suggest how not we should not cause the EB syndrome in future. Suggest that all Oppositions stay in their respective Constituencies and not move about so will not cause any unnecessary EB to anyone?

Then what should the people label the fear-mongering tactics that the PAP employs on all the residents? ‘Traumatise’? The PAP should not traumatise voters in time of elections instead.

Kind regards,
Jason Yeo

rex comments as follows,
That is correct observation.
It is childish to comment that a certain party is imposing emotional burden.
It is to be expected at all elections, what is the big deal. PAP in fact plays this card considerably more than the opposition when the old man threatened that aljunied electorate have to REPENT and would regret if they don;t vote pap.
The words of Dr Vincent of SDP sums it nicely "The PAP has no more intellectual capacity".
From the entire gamut of leaders LKY 89 years old to George yeo 55 years old to TingPei Leng 28 years old, ... the entire spectrum of leaders are BANKRUPT of IDEAS and yet they act as if they are GOD.
It is so easy to make a decision on 7th May!!

Agreed with Jason Yeo.
Very selfish reasoning from the philosophic GY.
Getting rid of the GRC system will mitigate such emotional burden, if you ask me and most reasonable Singaporeans.

The moment of truth is near, come May 7th. To vote wisely is to vote without fear.

they have forgotten the real purposes of an election since they have not fought one on regular basis. just like even before we know whether the voters decision is right or not, there are people telling them that they will need to repent if the opposition win. what kind of logical is it? might as well don't have election coz it causes emotional burden? looks like as long as things are not going their way, nothing is right and everyone is daft!

What Abraham Lincoln saying will come true on May 7:-
"You can fool some of the people some of the time. You can even fool some of the people all of the time. But you can not fool all of the people all of the time"
My hope is now more of Singaporeans belong to the last category; more Singaporeans have woken up from from their subconscious fear of "PAPAYAS" who have been "brainwashing" us all these years.
Majulah Singapura! For the sake of our children, children's children, everyone of us should vote without fear or favour. We should use our head more than our heart to vote. Remember to leave your fear behind and you will vote wisely.

Emotional burden? Who is gripped with emotion on the prospect of saying goodbye?

If the opposition wins Aljunied GRC, their voters will be celebrated as national heroes for shattering the myth of PAP supremacy, and changing the course of Singapore’s political development.

People of Aljunied GRC.
Should you still be in a dilemma over George vs Opposition,
just paraphrase a famous quote from Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar”:

“Not that I love George Yeo less,
But that I love Singapore more.”

Any Singaporean vacillating between PAP or Oppo,
let Shakespeare resolve it for you. Take control of your Singapore. Vote opposition.
