My personal feeling for NS award of $9000 is more for attracting PRs to become citizen just like the upping of medical fees for non-citizen a few years ago is also for enticing PRs to opt for citizenship.
Unless there are benefits/subsidies directly given to citizens borned and raised here.
True blue Singaporeans already treating NS as a way of life.
Dont be fooled by the $9000!

Last time, I would die for Singapaore wihtout asking for anything in return. Now, I say go and die even if the government were to give me $90K.

With almost 50% of the population being foreginer who are here to make money and can just pack up and leave when there are troubles, what and who exactly are we defending? I not stupid, you know?
