Construction industry is in bad shape

The construction industry is in bad shape. A few large contractors had gone bust recently.

My investment in Koh Brothers is safe. Although it shows a loss of 18% now, I expect it to recover in the months ahead.

We should expect 30 covid deaths a month

We should expect 30 covid deaths a month and not worry if it happens. More important, we should avoid over reacting with restrictions that harm peoples' livelihoods and cause other health problems.

New Zealand has four alert measures for their lockdown measures

New Zealand has four alert levels for their lockdown measures. They are explained here.

Singapore has a convoluted system (which is the hallmark of PAP and LHL).
We started with Dorscon Orange, but never progress to Dorscon Red.
We change to Circuit Breaker, then moved to Phase 2 and Phase 3 and changed to Heightened Alert.
I lost track. Did we have Heightened Alert Phase 2, Phase 2A or whatever?
I prefer a straight forward system, such as the one adopted by New Zealand.

China will regulate online insurance sector

China intends to tighten its regulation on insurance company practices.

I have a large holding in the stock of PICC Property & Casualty Insurance Company.

Here are my plans on this holding.

Unhelpful to use the term "unlinked"

Many people are worried about the large number of "unlinked" cases. But they worry for the wrong reason.

It does not really matter if the case is "linked" or "unlinked".

These unlinked cases are more serious, because they are identified when they appear at the clinic with some symptoms of covid sickness.

In contrast, the "linked" cases are detected through quarantine or isolation, The linked cases are more likely to be mild, i.e. asymptomatic.

I find the classification between "linked" and "unlinked" to be not helpful. It could be possibly misleading.

This classification gave too much importance to safe entry and contact tracing. It distracts from the more important distinction between mild (i.e. asymptomatic) and severe (symptomatic).
