Weekly meetings at Hong Lim Green?

An investor suggested that Hong Lim Green is a suitable place for investors to meet each week on Saturday at 6 to 7 pm.

It is big enough for many several group meetings (by distributor or product) to be held. It is also useful for the investors to exchange notes. It is quite convenient as it is within walking distance of the Clarke Quay and Raffles Place MRT stations.

The meeting can be with, or without, speeches.

Do you think that this is a good idea?

I fully support it.
With the coverage of local and foreign media, this is our only channel to inform the responsible authority that our problem is not solved.

Fully support. We can coordinate and update each other better with a weekly gathering.

Sure, why not? But, do we need to apply for a police license? Otherwise we will be charged in court for illegal gathering of more than - not sure how many persons.

I am all for it. In any case we are not going to Hong Lim Park to protest the government. We are gathering to discuss our investment etc. Even if we need a licence, we can apply.

Dear Mr Tan, thanks for your effort in helping the people. Your action is commendable. Maybe your weekly sessions if can covers other instruments which are possible problem areas as we know currently some FIs and FAs sell whatever pay high commissions etc and some products are not even regulated eg Land Banking. It is time for cleanup in the industry

Why not. It is definitely a good idea. We don't have to talk about investment. It can be anything as long as it is not political. It opens up another avenue for anyone who wants to vent their frustration. Of course, I hope that people don't just say support and in the end, never turn up. Mr Tan's effort will be wasted in organizing such an activity.

I attended a talk on landbanking investment last saturday. This afternoon, I bumped into a friend who told me that in land banking investment, it takes 5-6 yrs before you see your returns. During these 5-6 yrs, you have to pay interst on the land that they look after for you. Is this truth? If it is true, I bet alot of people are not aware.

Good idea . At least we can update each other on the outcome and keep up our hope.
