Are prices in NTUC Fairprice cheaper?

Are prices in NTUC fairprice cheaper? Many consumers say they are not. they can buy cheaper products in other supermarkets.

This report by Smart Money confirmed that prices are indeed rather high in Fairprice.

However, it appears that the article did not take into account that Fairprice gives a rebate to its members. The rebate is about 4% plus Link points (not sure how much it is worth).

See this article for details.

So is Fairprice still competitive after the rebates and Link points are taken into account? I don't know. it seems to be rather complicated.
