Extremely so. Consider they were under so many constraints, they put on an amazing show. Well done Japan on the Olympics. Well done. Singapore is the only book-smart nation. ha ha ha.

Considering the size and population of China and the hundreds of millions of Chinese lifted out of the poverty trap, that alone is a good enough reason to judge that Xi is good for China.

Which world leader, past and present, have achieved that?

In 2018, China is now the second-largest economy in the world, with a per capita GDP equal to
$US9,400.
As a result of its opening-up policies, China has become the largest country in the world in goods trade and second-largest in service trade.
Inwardly and outwardly foreign direct investment reached $US135.00 billion and $US143.00 billion respectively in 2018.
These figures are 13% and 14% foreign direct investment flow(FDI) of the world.

Even as China fighting back US trade conflict, the country further open up to the world by broadening market access for foreign investors.
