Protection for gig workers

Many Singaporeans are working in the gig economy, i.e. driving or delivering food.

They asked for protection, i.e. CPF contribution and employment benefit.

How can the gig workers be given adequate income and benefits?

I give my views.

The first time when we're doing land tours from the cruise ship in the Philipines, we gave money to the first few beggars we thought for a simple reason, they looked down at out. Lo and behold, we were swamped by at least one thousand beggars who were even worse off. A few years later on a second trip, we learned that it was just not possible to help each and everyone, we just walked by.

Being poor is not having too little, it is wanting more. If your wants outpace your wanting more, you'll always be unsatisfied?

Ever wonder why computer printers are so cheap? So they can hook you for the ink.

We have warned our son of clubbing or bars to watch his drink from being spiked, in case he starts waving around knives and gets shot by the police. Singapore has become a scary place.
