Minister Mah & HDB should be thankful for the writer's letting them off the hook & instead nailing the problem at SLA doorstep ! But seriously, who believe the Official reason or reasons for escalating HDB prices anymore ? I am referring to NEW HDB flats, spare me the greedy HDB "owners' & un-reasonable first-timers or flood of PRs.
When we have the " asset-enhancement" great idea decades ago, followed by the "market subsidy" model , you can be sure of BIG problems down the road.

Singapore property rates have risen almost forty percent in the past few months. One major reason is the increasing number of expats. One surprising fact is; HDB resale has grown only by 2.5% in the last quarter of 2010 which is the lowest for the entire year. The high HDB rates are a major reason for this drop in the resale of HDB. Owning a property in Singapore is a valuable asset; all you need is to have complete insights of property rates. Property market news at Property Guru is a good way to keep you updated. It has all the latest information about HDB loan rates, property rates, change in government policies and many more.
