Visit those old HDB flats and you will realise that not many owned or have smart phones for the new tech concerning banking when their married children moved out.

Some use credit cards due to lack of choice. When salary time they paid the credit card bills. They than have less to spend. In comes the credit card and it becomes a cycle. During weddings some young couples like to impress. They than took loans from their credit cards to spend on a lavish wedding. They delay having children as they might have debt repayment newly wed.

Grand weddings put friends and families in a position where a couple had to spend a minimum $400 ang-pow just to be polite and show up. Simple weddings are for people who wants to celebrate the big day with the bride and groom.

Credit cards are convenient when travelling. At times they have good promotions for buffets like pay 3 one dine free.
