Effective government:

Trust-People will trust you if you are consistent with your words.. Words are cheap.

Good decision making- Did you do a post-mortem to consider the overall impact of your decision? Did you think of the consequences that would hurt lives and families? Did you select a route of convenience? ( you get paid the same monthly whatever the decision, yes!) Did you make decisions based on hard technical information or you or you just want to get off the fence by getting a decision made?

The purpose of government is to enable the people of a nation to live in safety and happiness. Government exists for the interests of the governed, not for the governors.
Thomas Jefferson

Cognitive thinking-When struggling to evaluate all angles in a difficult situation did you bring in diverse views and prospects?

Over regulating-An attempt at everything controllable results in nothing work as it
should. Soon this develops into resistance and rebellion, leading to yet more rules until it reaches a pathological level!

“Laws are spider-webs through which the big flies pass and the little ones get caught.”
― Honore de Balzac

Why are so many people living on edge judging from the daily news? That needs to tell us something? What about those not in the news?

Telling the truth!
During a storm, a nest full of young birds is threatened with flooding.

Papa bird carries his children to safety one by one.

As he flies above the waters with the first fledging he says, 'Do you see the trouble I take to keep you safe? Will you do the same for me when I am old and weak?' 'Of course I will,' answers the first fledging.

Papa bird promptly drops him in the water, 'A liar does not deserve to be saved.'

He does the same with the second.

When asks the third and last, he receives a different answer, ' Dear father, I cannot promise you that. But I can promise you I will save my own children.'

Papa bird carries the young fledgling to safety.

Sad but true?

The mask of politicians and the people in general:-)

Wearing a mask that shows people off in the best possible light. They say the right things and smile, but concealing the reality. We never know their true thoughts and feelings, even with spouses. Since appearances and words are what you are judged on, good acting can go a long way. The late Lee Kuan Yew was unpopular for not wearing a mask but his tough love, no-nonsense, good foresight, and painstaking delivery were transparent. The population was well looked after and taken care of. Today we are being replaced by "gifts of the gabs."

With technology, it has become easier to satisfy aggressive desires on the internet. Without having to physically face people, criticisms have become that much more hostile, personal, and heated, a new powerful weapon-cyberwar.

Speak of race as much as you want. As one person put it," Even when you take out the canines or a tiger, and he can only eat gruel, his heart remains that of a carnivore?"

Couples divorce.

Wars.

Court cases.

Crimes.

Family members attacking each other either privately or publicly.

These have nothing to do with race. Just that humans are too complicated. These exist all over the world. Why are there police and judges. They are there to beautify the country. Trying to solve the impossible. One provokes and the recipient makes a mountain out of a molehill is fire fighting with fire. Institutions and companies should stand by their staff for mistakes they make. No matter how bad a person there must be some good in every human?
