TRANSPORT SECTOR

9. The measures targeted at the transport sector are:

a. Diesel tax rebates for taxis.

b. Waiver of taxi operator licence fees.

It is not possible for the Government to fully offset the impact of SARS on the economy. However, the Government can and will render assistance to the tourism and transport-related sectors, to help them tide over this difficult period and also to save jobs wherever possible.

The outbreak of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has created public anxiety and taken a toll on businesses. The hardest and most directly hit are tourism and transport-related industries like airline, cruise, hotel, restaurant, travel agent, retail and taxi services. Other sectors like manufacturing are less affected.

Government agencies such as the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), SPRING, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), and Land Transport Authority have been meeting industry players to understand their problems. Arising from the consultations, the Government has decided to implement a package of relief measures.

The country survived with minimal impact?
No matter what no need to have the last word?
Professionals have their talents and area of expertise.
control every minor detail makes full capacity feels inhibited.
SARS was as much deadly as COVID!

Robinsons had no money hurling unto them during the SARS. There was no packing-up during that particular pandemic. Blame it on on-line shopping or out-of-date shopping style. These alone are not able to crush a historical 100-year-old store.

To be fair to the people of the republic, interviews should be picked randomly from at least

50 people who will be a good representation of what they felt about the budget. Afterall it

is the taxpayer's money not anybody's own money. We should not recycle hand-picked people

who has self-interest, benefitted from the 100 million(oops billions) and who had to say the

right thing because they have a job to keep. At least once, can we keep it unpolitical?
